Description
Corbett National Park is a leading national park in India, located in the Nainital district
of Uttarakhand. Established in 1936, Corbett National Park now covers more than 520 square
kilometers. In 1973, Project Tiger was first launched in India at Corbett National Park to
protect the tiger population. Corbett National Park is one of the few tiger reserves where
night stays are allowed. The park area consists of grasslands, mountains, lakes, and rivers.
Tigers, elephants, deer, and leopards are some of the most famous animals of Corbett
National Park. Additionally, crocodiles and otters can also be found here. More than 50
raptors and over 500 species of birds are present. Open jeep and elephant safaris are
popular options for exploring the park. The Dhikala range offers stays in forest rest houses
close to the core areas, which can be booked online. Elephant safaris and canter safaris are
available at Dhikala. Apart from Dhikala, Bijrani, Jhirna, and Durgadevi are other ranges
that offer open jeep safaris.
Best Time to Visit Corbett National Park
Corbett National Park is closed during the monsoon season. The best time to visit is from
November 15th to June 15th when all ranges are open for safari. The spring season, between
